‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s summer program for keiki is underway.

More than 80 children are participating, and the program is full.

Keiki spent the first day of the Halau Lamaku Summer 2022 Enrichment Program outside exploring, making crafts and starting a weeklong curriculum about surfing.

Other weeklong programs will teach keiki about Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, plants and animals at the national park, and eels that live among the reef environments in Hawaii.

The center is closed during the weekdays to accommodate the camp until Wednesday, July 20.

‘Imiloa is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
